The story of the Orion X is rooted in decades of motorsport heritage from the Biernatek family, founders of Kinu Grinders. In the early 1980s, Dr. Eduard Biernatek gained his first experience in motorsport, refining his engineering expertise in an environment where every detail mattered and true performance was defined by absolute precision.
In the early 2000s, his son Christian continued the family’s motorsport legacy, active in both motorsport disciplines like his father — motocross and hill climb racing. At every event, the Biernateks brought grinders with them, enriching every barbecue, quick meal and coffee break with the warmth of freshly ground flavours.
It was during one of these events that the idea was born:
What if a grinder could reflect the same spirit as a racing component?
From this vision, the Orion X emerged: a spice grinder designed like a finely tuned racing component, where every detail is intentional. Its body is machined from solid stainless steel, honouring the strength, resilience, and durability of motorsport-grade materials. The anodized aluminium crown — inspired by the iconic racing wheel nut — is both functional and symbolic, connecting design with heritage.
This grinder is an homage to the racing spirit and precision engineering of the founders of Kinu Grinders.

- 46 mm stainless-steel burr set – precisely cuts spices rather than crushing them, unlocking full flavour, aroma, and consistent grind.
- Stepless adjustment system – effortlessly find the perfect texture, from coarse to ultra-fine.
- Functional aluminium crown with funnel – opens and closes without removal, protecting spices from impurities.
- Lifetime-grade construction – solid stainless-steel body and precision engineering for unrivalled durability and stability.
- High-capacity design – holds approximately 140 g of peppercorns or 180 g of coarse salt.
GRINDER VARIANTS
The Orion X comes with two possible inscriptions on the top knob — “S” for salt or “P” for pepper — but its versatility extends far beyond, making it suitable for any kind of spice or seasoning.
Every Orion X is delivered with a Certificate of Authenticity and comes with a 5-year warranty.
